Arevik Acopian is an experienced editor whose specialty is Trailer and promo editing. Originally from Armenia, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time, she moved with her mother to Spain when she was 11. The memories Arevik has of her native Armenia are ones filled with art, beauty and music. Her entire family played the piano and her grandmother was a painter and Arevik naturally gravitated toward the arts early. She started to paint at age 6 and before she went to Spain, she studied piano for five years at a conservatory.

Artistic expression has been in her blood, so to speak, and Arevik continued to paint and received a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from the University of Fine Arts in Madrid and then went to Italy to study at the very prestigious Academy of Brera. That was the place that changed Arevik’s thoughts about painting as her life’s work. While she was there she bought her first camera and she instantly realized that all she wanted to do was play with the footage. And that’s what she did. She edited the images for hours and hours and loved every minute of it. She switched her career goals in a heartbeat and went back to Spain and earned a Master Degree in Editing and Post-Production at CICE and began working for small production companies.

Since she had always been interested in movies and in particular, movie trailers and promos, Arevik decided that she would pursue those specific things to work on and applied to work at the Fox International Channel in Spain, since trailers and promos were what they mainly produced. It took a great deal of persisitance on her part but they finally gave her a chance to prove herself and after a one week testing period, Arevik was hired as an editor. She worked on promos and trailers for The Walking Dead, Greay’s Anatomy and The Good Wife, among other shows. She was chosen to work for Fox and Foxlife programs that were broadcast in Russia because of her skillful editing and the fact that Arevik also speaks fluent Russian, along with several other languages.

Arevik has been editing for over ten years and has also been working on her own documentary, which she has written and directed and is currently editing. The film is called, A Lucky Man, and it follows an Armenian man on his journey to get into in the United States.
