The Australians in Film Awards will honor Jai Courtney and director Garth Davis

The Australian’s in Film awards and Benefit Dinner will take place on October 19th at NeueHouse in Hollywood honoring Suicide Squad actor Jai Courtney and acclaimed director Garth Davis. The awards which will take place for the 5th year in a row aim at honoring and supporting Australian actors and Filmmakers in Hollywood, recognizing their outstanding contributions and work in the entertainment industry. Tim Minchin who is currently directing his first feature film Larrikins will host the awards and benefit dinner and will no doubt, do an amazing job emceeing the event.

The AFI Awards, which were first known as The Breakthrough Awards in 2005, chose to this year, honor actor Jai Courtney for his amazing work in such films as A Good Day to Die Hard with Bruce Willis, Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie and his latest blockbuster Suicide Squad, alongside fellow Aussie Margot Robbie. Director and filmmaker Garth Davis, whose credits include LION and the Universal Pictures feature International will also be honored for his outstanding work. Past honorees include Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth and Teresa Palmer, to name a few.
