Singer Celine Dion attended and performed at the 2016 Stand Up To Cancer event at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, on September 9th. The event which helps to raise awareness and funds for one of the world’s biggest killers (cancer) has pledged an astonishing $111 million with the help of this star-studded event. Academy award winner Bradley Cooper, who executive produced the show has a special place in his heart for this particular cause as unfortunately he lost his father to lung cancer and Celine Dion who also lost her beloved husband and brother within days of each other earlier this year.

Some of the other celebrity guests and performers included, Keith Urban, Charlie Puth and Little Big Town as well as attendees, Marcia Cross, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Ben Affleck, to name a few. The Stand Up To Cancer event helps to assist the funding and approach to translational research, as well as the crucial delivery of new therapy for patients.  Stand Up To Cancer is a way of bringing together scientists from different areas and institutions to work together in finding the best and latest research. By having so many famous famous faces behind such an important cause to raise awareness, all of the donations that are received from people all over the world contribute directly to cancer research programs.
