We recently sat down for an interview with beautiful and talented Swedish actress Stina Lundberg. Here is what she shared with the readers about her long term plans for he acting career and her ideal co-star.
Please introduce yourself to the readers:
My name is Stina Lundberg and I’m a Swedish actress.
How and when did you first get into performing?
My mom put me in dancing school when I was 6 years old and from that day on, I’ve always been creative. Where I come from with acting, is very limited, but I had many years expressing my creativity through dancing and dreaming of acting. Even though there wasn’t an ‘acting school’ in my hometown, I was always the lead in every school play ever produced during the time I was a student. Every chance I had to act, I did. I was a wild and unafraid child.
Who were some of your biggest inspirations growing up?
Noomi Rapace has always been an inspiration to me. She’s been playing parts that are so far beyond her and so different, yet she does it with so much truth and honesty. I remember sitting in a movie theater in Gothenburg, Sweden, and thinking- If she can do it, so can I! Meryl Streep has been a big inspiration to me as well. Her acting is so natural, effortless and free flowing. That’s what I aim for in my acting as well.
What kind of training have you had, if any?
Well of course, all my years as a dancer, have given me a huge advantage in acting. They are both forms of story telling, through different expressions. I have an AFA in acting from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and I’ve been grabbing opportunities everywhere I go, so if I find a good studio class I’ll take it.
What has been your favorite role to play so far?
I have two favorite parts so far. In the ‘The Uninvited Guest’ I played Sarah. I loved this role because the stakes were so high for her and in every scene she faced a surprise. My other role is when I played the lead actress in Bronco. I loved her because she was so different from me. She smoked, she didn’t have any ambitions, the love of her life left her for someone else and she used another boy to heal that wound. That was two very interesting characters to work on.
What has been one of your biggest achievements in your career so far?
Lovate International Inc flew me to Canada to shoot a commercial for Hydroxycut. That was a very Fun trip.
What projects do you have coming up?
I have two features coming up. One that we already shot the trailer for and the director is planning on screening it at Universal pictures. The other one is a feature film about two men and a woman on a freight train. To be having two features coming up with me as a lead in both, is such a dream come true. I’m so very grateful for both projects!
Who would be your ideal co-star and why?
Jennifer Lawrence, She is another amazing actress who does everything with ease. She is my age, the same type of person as me and she has inspired me on my acting journey. It would be so much fun to play her best friend or sister.
What are your plans for the future?
My future is limitless. I’m going to focus on the upcoming projects I have for now. I also had a pretty exciting meeting with a pretty big producer last week, and there is something exciting in the works, for the near future. That’s all I can say about that for now.
What is your best piece of advice to aspiring performers?
Anything is possible! Believe in yourself, love yourself and everyone around you. Always be kind and giving, breathe and trust. Keep your focus and everything will work out for you. As a performer, it is important to keep your creative flow, and you can do that by finding a place of truly loving yourself and this world. Be confident, but never arrogance or an ego.
