Erika Garces has been the lead in several campaigns around the world. This young lady at only 22 years of age, has achieved tremendous things and she keeps working hard for more. She has big dreams, but also has a big heart to go along with her beautiful looks and talent. This is proven in her efforts to helping others and making a difference in the world, by sending messages of hope and encouragement, through her work.
She was featured in the lead for the Aveda Cosmetics Campaign in the city of London throughout the year of 2009, being the first Ecuadorian model to ever be part of this campaign. She was only 17 years old at the time and she found herself in a situation where she was beating her own records and her fellow country representatives on an international level too. Her country still to this day, is very grateful for the many other achievements Erika has made throughout her career giving her country more recognition in different places, throughout the world.
After this big campaign, Erika was chosen for many others but mainly, the sports wear brand REEF for the international surf competition as one of the leads, in a campaign for her home town Quito, in an art exhibition for renowned photographs in South America, organized by the city council of Quito, presented on ‘United Nations Avenue’. In these pictures, Erika was wearing designer clothes by Carolina Izquierdo, an important and famed designer and stylist in Ecuador.
Around the same time this was happening, Erika was shooting also for the ‘Anti-Racial Campaign’ quoting in every publication: “Let’s live in a world where the color of your skin doesn’t matter”. In these pictures, Erika was seen mainly showing her skin, but covering certain areas of her body with a white sheet, carrying a newborn baby on her back, whose skin color was black. In contrast to this, ex Miss Supra National Suly Castillo, an African-Ecuadorian model was carrying a white skinned baby on her back. Erika also had a picture holding the baby in her arms with a cloth that represents another ethnic group in her country.
This was beautiful for all to see around the city. People loved it. There are rumors from Erika‘s manager that she might continue with this campaign next year, but in particularly focusing more on South American countries. This and many more inspiring things this artist has been part of making her country proud of her work and nationality.
