Move over Kylie Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia! The next Australian superstar is here! Zebidy Tank is an amazingly talented singer and guitar player originally from Sydney, Australia. She also has a band that she pieced together back in 2008, called “Drop Tank” in the Warehouse district of Marrickville, NSW, Australia.

Zebidy’s powerful vocal skills and vocal range, can be compared to the best of them in the music industry, including the legendary Teena Marie and Ann Wilson from (Heart)- Not to mention, Zebidy has that certain “X Factor” appeal when she graces the stage and mesmerises the crowd during her performances. She has been described as “Mariah Carey meets Phil Anselmo” – lead singer of heavy metal group (Pantera) vocal style”.

Although, it is her down to earth aussie attitude, that wins you over, when you meet her, Zebidy’s music fuses technical guitar playing and fun, gutsy, guitar riffs.

Described as a “refreshing change” in Drum Media magazine, Drop tank have been likened to the Motorhead/1970’s school of rock, but with contemporary themes and melodies, and a twist of pop.

Success wise, Drop Tank have won a Battle of the band competition, played at the largest underground Channel party in Sydney (with 21 stages), played at Metalstock and the Sydney Fringe Festival and have won many fans due to peforming at large venues like the Gaelic Club, Annandale Hotel and Oxford Arts Factory in Australia. Drop Tank are known for their high level energy sell out shows.

As Zebidy explains, The high energy songs, are “born out of instrumental jams in the mad, delapidated world of the crumbling building we inhabit. We try to just let songs happen organically without trying to second guess how they’re ‘supposed to sound” says Zebidy, who is also a songwriter. “I think this keeps them sounding more connected to the initial frantic energy that spawns them when we get in the rehearsal room”.

Zebidy is currently working on some exciting new tracks with some up and coming producers that are set to be released soon. She is also embarking on a world tour soon, so be sure to check for updates on her websites below:
